Devil's Pool, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Africa is a place I really want to go to and Zimbabwe is always the place I imagine myself visiting.
I knew about Victoria Falls and figured if I went it would make a neat photo op. Waterfalls are pretty stellar. I went to Detian Place while in China. It's like the second largest waterfall on a border in the world, Niagara Falls is #1.
It was pretty, but I liked the fact that across the way was Vietnam, all the signs warning against crossing to the other side, and when you could get up close. Now I find out about Devil's Pool and, whoa, it is a whole different kind of up close.
Along the top of Victoria Falls are pools that you can be in without plummeting to your death. There's probably still a large amount of risk in being that close to the edge. This particular pool seems to be almost dead center of the falls. I have no clue how they get there.
Zimbabwe used to be a pretty tourist friendly country in Africa, but right now the currency is a joke and because of that, and Robert Mugabe, a ton of people have left for other countries like South Africa.
