Oktoberfail

Set my alarm for 7:20am to allow for laziness didn't get out of bed until 8:30 for a 9:00 train. So I packed quickly and poorly. Normally there's enough room, but today I was scrunching stuff hard.
Train was late because they needed to get a new train, but that was alright because every car was 1st class.
I got a box of 6 donuts at Dunkin Donuts and people were looking at me like I was carrying around a bomb. It's 1.30€ for a donut and 5.49€ for six so I was being a bargain man.
You get looks if they know you're American in fast food joints. Like, "look an American in their natural habitat."
Fast foods a whole different experience in other countries by the way. They are decently expensive compared to local food in China and in both Europe and China they are all fancy and nice.
So didn't get to Munich until 4pm and all the hotels I tried were like laughingly telling me they had no rooms. On my fifth try I decided I'd get a night train instead so I'm going to Rome.
I might take a night train back to Munich tomorrow night because I couldn't find Oktoberfest.
I know I was surprised too.
The lady I asked just told me to follow all the people. Which would be helpful advice if there was a parade of people marching in one direction.
I found this clock that has big figurines move around on the hour. It's suppose to be one of the biggest attractions, seriously.
The picture is of some people watching it. It's boring but draws a crowd of craned necks.
Don't think it wasn't for a lack of looking that I didn't find any tents. I tried, but my legs get all angry at me as I walk any great distance and I had my backpack.
I guess it's probably my shoes that's the source of the pain along with just being tired. But on the road isn't the place to break in new kicks.
The Oktoberfest gear is a good look for the ladies, but the guys I could do without.
So I traveled all day today to travel all night, but sadly it's way cheap for me to take a train to Rome and then another back the next night.
Then I'll have all day.
I'll go to Dachau first. It's a concentration camp. I said I wouldn't but while in Germany do as the Nazis did. Then with rest of day track down Oktoberfest and then probably another night train.
Been thinking whilst I travel what would be like to live in a country without an Army. Somewhere that just is.
America has lost a crazy amount of face in like 20 years. We can't handle our business at home or abroad.
I was lying when I said I wasn't gonna rant about this crap again.
Who would of thought a million drunkards would manage to get reservations and rooms and Im shtuck.
