Being thwarted by pesky reservations I spent 3 nights relatively homeless.

When I got to Vienna I tried 8 hotels, every single one I could find, and all were booked up. Can you believe Austria has a busy season. After having this happen in Munich I figure Austria was a pretty no name country so I wouldn't have this issue.

A lot of conferences were in town, oh come on.

So I walked the streets of Vienna from 10pm-6am which was not fun and was not planned.

When I found out there was not gonna be any rooms for me I went back to station to get a train to anywhere and the guy tells me there is only a night train back to Munich. Proving how much of a no name city you are. When you only have 2 trains leaving at 11pm your not exactly winning any popularity contests.

And no, I don't want to go back to Munich especially not on a night train again.

In the morning I went back to Munich's International Airport and flew Munich to Paris to JFK. My mom and sister picked me up in NY because last time I flew into the shit hole that is JFK I was stuck there for 9 hours

I was told by one ticket person that there was only one flight for more than I paid for my car + insurance for year. Then I found a flight for half that the next day. But then I found the right lady to talk to and she got me a ticket for a quarter of the first price, round trip even. Both window seats in the front of the plane.

So I paid for a round trip ticket to go one way.

Ticket people sorta look at you like, "huh?" when you ask to go to the United States today. I went from, I'd like to go to Boston, to I'd like to go to New York or Boston, to I'd like to go to anywhere in the US today.

I wanted to go Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Zurich, maybe a plane to Finland, then home, but Vienna killed my thoughts on Budapest and Prague and Zurich was now 11-13 hours away. Meaning another night train.

I decided to go home and did. Now I feel pretty good about that choice.

Going to hang out here for a week or so. Then go on my College Tour '08.

I'm going to be planning multiple shorter trips that are better planned and if your reading this you're welcome to come so if your interested in going to I-don't-know-where let me know.

For the time I was away and for not having an itinerary I did pretty good.
